As the theatre world mourns the recent death of prolific Broadway playwright, Neil Simon, we celebrate his gift of comedy with one of his earliest plays, The Star-Spangled Girl. Set in San Francisco in the turbulent 1960’s, this show follows the adventures of Andy and Norman, who are roommates as well as the editor and (entire) staff of a controversial political newspaper. Their social and political world is turned upside down with the arrival of their new upstairs neighbor, Sophie, an All-American conservative southern belle who is less than thrilled with her new neighbors and their subversive objectives. It’s a story of trial and tribulation, love and rejection, and obsession and compulsion, all played to hilarious consequence. The laughs are non-stop in this Neil Simon classic!
Tickets are available at the door for $12. You can also call 419-782-PLAY for more information.
